MTI Film, a leading developer of software applications for dailies processing, media transcoding and film restoration, has appointed Jean-Dominique “J.D.” Vandenberghe as Product Manager. Formerly Workflow Project Manager at ARRI, Vandenberghe brings a strong background in engineering and mathematics, and broad experience with digital cinema camera systems and workflow technologies.
Vandenberghe will be representing MTI Film at IBC 2013, September 13-17 in Amsterdam.
At MTI Film, Vandenberghe will be responsible for the continued development of the company’s Cortex line of dailies processing and transcoding solutions, as well as other current and future products. He will oversee the development and launch of new product features, and work directly with third-party vendors, resellers and end-users on development-related issues.
“We are delighted to welcome J.D. to the MTI Film team,” says David McClure, Vice President for Product Development. “He brings tremendous value to the table in terms of his knowledge and passion. His experience with camera systems makes him an especially valuable asset to our customers in understanding their needs and translating them into new product features.”
Vandenberghe joined ARRI in 2010 as a digital service engineer and as such he helped introduce the ARRI ALEXA camera to North America. He later served in a variety of workflow-related roles and ultimately as Workflow Project Manager, overseeing the development of applications for integrating ARRI products into production and post-production workflows. Previously, he was co-founder and CEO of Escape Lab, a Brussels, Belgium post production and DVD Authoring facility.
Commenting on his new role, Vandenberghe says that he sees MTI Film‘s Cortex as a cornerstone for current and future production workflows. “Cortex offers solutions to many of the questions that have arisen since the production moved away from film,” he observes. “In a production environment that includes a multitude of cameras, camera formats and delivery formats, Cortex serves as a hub for all those inputs and outputs, and it does so with maximum efficiency and quality.”
