    Mode Project is a finalist in the 2012 PromaxBDA North America Design Competition for “CASA: One Boy’s Story,” in the Art Direction & Design, PSA category. The spot combines live-action production with CG animation to create an imaginary world of paper cutouts that show a CASA volunteer helping a boy navigate the court system, foster homes, and his eventual adoption.nn”The challenge of this PSA was to tell the story from the child’s perspective in an unexpected way,” says Colin Carter, Mode’s executive creative director. Mode Project‘s CG director Stefan Draht envisioned creating animated visuals that took cues from materials easily accessible in a child’s environment. “The use of 3D allowed us to visually and conceptually bridge the gap between live action shots of the boy and the fantasy world of his imagination,” Draht said.
