The Mill is pleased to announce the expansion of its 3D team with Jordi Bares, The Mill’s Head of 3D, stepping up as 3D Creative Director; Tom Bussell moving up to Head of 3D, Robert Holmes takes the role of 3D Gaming Supervisor, and we welcome Jorge Montiel Meurer as Head of Animation.
The Mill has had a remarkable three years and as a direct result has responded with a new role for Jordi that will allow him to create the best experience for clients and artists alike. By bringing together the talent and expertise of Jordi, Tom, Robert and Jorge we have an exceptional award winning 3D team.

Jordi Bares – 3D Creative Director – As Head of 3D over the past ten years, Jordi has been instrumental in building The Mill’s 3D team by developing the framework and technologies within the 3D department. He has also lead some of The Mill’s most iconic projects from Sony ‘Balls’, Playstation ‘Mountain’, Barclaycard ‘Waterslide’ to Nike ‘The Next Level’ and Guinness ‘World’.
Jordi moves in to his role of 3D Creative Director where he will be responsible for the long term innovation in 3D working closely with Tom Bussell, and to focus on the creative strategy for The Mill’s 3D team’s future development. He will continue to create and lead key projects.
Tom Bussell – Head of 3D – Tom began life at The Mill as a runner less than eight years ago, and has grown with the business to become a key figure within the 3D team. He has crafted some of our best work. His credits include; Nike ‘Write the Future’, VW’s ‘Black Beetle’, Audi ‘Economy Drive’ and Cadbury’s ‘Cocoa Beams’.
As Head of 3D, Tom will continue to lead great creative work and will promote the best experience for the new wave of CG talent. He will work closely with Jordi in the ongoing development of The Mill’s 3D team and will be taking charge of the day to day pipeline and management.
Robert Holmes – 3D Gaming Supervisor – Robert has helped craft some of our most innovative projects including Axe ‘Angels’ and more recently on our gaming projects Codemasters ‘Bodycount’ and Bethesda / Splash Media’s ‘Brink’. He will lead our Gaming Team and will be a key figure in the ongoing development of the broader CG team.
Jorge Montiel Meurer – Head of Animation – Jorge joins us from MPC where he has worked for five years as their Animation Supervisor. His credits include the award winning Cadbury’s campaigns for ‘Spots & Stripes’ and ‘Airport’, Kerry LowLow ‘Mouse’ and Evian ‘Babies’. As Head of Animation, Jorge will help drive and inspire our Character Animation creative talent. Alongside Jordi, Tom and Robert, Jorge will contribute to The Mill’s strategy for Animation and Character work.
