NBCUniversal announced today that Michael Moore will become President and General Manager, Universal Studios Operations beginning September 17, 2012. In this role, Michael will be part of NBCUniversal’s Operations and Technical Services organization and will oversee all the operations of Universal City Studios, including Production Services, Sound Services, Facilities, and Marketing. Michael will report jointly to Ron Meyer, President and Chief Operating Officer, Universal Studios and John Wallace, President, Operations & Technical Services, NBCUniversal. This position is currently held by Dave Beanes who is retiring at the end of the year after 42 years in the industry and 17 years with the company.

Michael is currently the President of Raleigh Entertainment/Raleigh Film and Television Studios, LLC, where he oversees the global operations of the company, including studio operations, post-production, facilities, leasing, marketing, and business development, for Raleigh’s Hollywood studios, as well as studio facilities across the United States, Europe and Asia. As a seasoned leader with more than 30 years of experience, he has been responsible for the largest independent studio and production support group in North America.
For nearly two decades Dave has been a valuable resource to NBCUniversal. Prior to his current position, Dave served as Senior Vice President of Production Services, Universal Operations Group since May 2001 and had been Vice President of Production Services, Universal Operations Group, since January 2000. Before joining the Universal Operations Group, Dave served as Vice President Television Production for Universal Television from 1995-97 and Vice President Television Production, Studios USA Television from 1997-99. Dave began his career in 1970 at KABC Television where he received an Emmy for Producing the acclaimed “Michael Jackson Show.”
