charlieuniformtango executive creative director of the company’s digital production, Matt Manroe, has launched a new digital campaign for State Farm featuring comedian Steve Harvey. Manroe will be creating forty-eight different digital stages for the series of :60 digital comedy shorts.
“The spots were created using green screen with Steve Harvey’s head tracked to a body double and inserted into an animated background,” Manroe said. “It’s a huge amount of digital inventory,” he added. The campaign delivers fun, relevant messages based around State Farm’s tenets of auto, home, and life.
Sanders/Wingo is the advertising agency. The rest of the charlieuniformtango team included Michele Tongate, producer; Nicole Brieger, Smoke artist; Dave Laird, visual effects; Mathew Ludwick, audio; and Christopher Kasper, edits. The team began work on the project last March, and expects the final edits to conclude this December.
The new campaign premiered at Harveyknowsbest.com Monday, October 19th to coincide with National Teen Driver Safety Week, which runs Oct. 19-24. It features the animated version of Harvey going through a stand-up bit about his son’s request for a brand new Escalade.
Visitors to the site get a personal touch by entering their name, which then appears in animated marquee lights on the landing page. They can also enter their zip code to get a quote or find a State Farm agent in their area. “It’s dual objectives of creating awareness of State Farm’s offerings, and driving business to their agents,” Manroe said.
Matt Manroe joined charlieuniformtango as ECD of Digital Production, having seven years experience as ECD of integrated marketing agency, nFusion, and 20+ years of experience at advertising agencies TM Advertising, The Richards Group, NW Ayer, Foote Cone Belding, and Tracy Locke. Matt has been recognized for winning national and regional awards for integrated and online creative work for Anheuser-Busch, 20th Century Fox, Nortel, Toshiba, and NEC Display Solutions, among others. He is a Clio award winner, listed in “Who’s Who in Advertising,” elected to ADWEEK’s Creative All-Star Team as National Television Art Director of the Year, and the recipient of numerous Addy and Tops Awards.
