An entire world build out of 3D wireframes – the only real element is the new VW Passat with “Bluemotion” technologies.nnThis was the brief from DDB India for the launch campaign of the new VW Passat. DDB hired the experienced VFX and live action shooter Martin Weisz through Soup film in Germany. The live action parts of the spot were shot through Weird Pictures in Los Angeles and Sway Studios was responsible for the wireframe worlds and VFX of the spot.nnThe whole campaign involves the launch spot and a matching print campaign featuring the wireframe assets from the spot production. Since the turnaround was just 4 weeks from shoot to finished product, just the stills for the print campaign were rendered in hi-res.nnThe live action part was shot entirely in green screen on a small insert stage in Santa Monica. Since the new VW Passat car had a lot of new and updated interior features for the Indian market, almost the entire interior of the car was replaced with photo elements from DDB India.nnThe Spot was aired during the Cricket World Cup in India. The first 40 games were watched by a record 147 mio viewers.nnnnCredits:nClient: VW IndiannAgency: DDB IndianCreative Director, Rajeev Raja; Agency producer, Anil SonawanennProduction Company: Soup filmnExecutive producer, Stephan Fruth; Producer Soup, Michael TettenbornnnProduction service: Weird PicturesnProducer Weird Pictures, Cordula Weisz; DP, Simon Thirlaway; Director, Martin WeisznnVFX: Sway Studios

Goldcrest Post Speeds Delivery of “Severance” Season Two
The New York Times recently wrote that the just-released Season Two of Severance will “blow your mind”—and we couldn’t agree more. I conduct remote daily meetings with my immediate staff, and weekly meetings with editorial and VFX, and we talk to each other as if we were just down the hall. It makes for great staff... Read More
