New partnership showcased latest VR technology and content at Sundance Film Festival
Filmmaker/actor Mark Kassen (Puncture, Before We Go) has announced that his Like Minded Entertainment has formed an exclusive partnership with Radiant Images, Los Angeles’ largest VR camera and technology center, to form a full service virtual reality and augmented reality production arm. VP of Production Sal Alvarez will oversee all aspects of LME’s VR division.
While Radiant Images will continue to operate independently as a rental facility for all 2D, 3D and VR technology, Like Minded Entertainment will now serve as Radiant's exclusive partner on all new productions.
“We couldn't be more excited to partner with the Radiant team for our VR production arm,” said Kassen. “For 10 years, Radiant VP and co-founder Michael Mansouri and his team have been behind the scenes creating the solutions for some of the most incredible, complicated and interesting sequences in the entertainment industry – from 127 Hours to Suicide Squad. We feel very fortunate to have that level of support and know how integrated with our productions."
Mansouri said LME’s production experience offers a perfect complement to Radiant’s technical and solution-based expertise.
“Our new partnership with Like Minded Entertainment enables Radiant to truly offer an end-to-end solution for all our content creators,” Mansouri said. “Our new team is focused on developing solutions and breaking the technology barriers that give the creative depths of solution from capture and post production all the way through distribution.”
Radiant/LME finished its first project earlier this month in Chicago as part of the team (with vantage.tv and VRScout) to produce the multi-camera 360/VR live stream of President Obama’s Farewell Address. This marked the first multi-platform 360/VR live stream ever of a Presidential speech.
Radiant’s virtual reality/360 video expertise was on full display at the Sundance Film Festival this past week in Park City, Utah. In a partnership with JauntVR, Radiant and LME showcased the latest VR technology, content and solutions in capture, post and distribution in the popular JauntVR Lounge.
Radiant’s VR division is recognized as an industry leader in testing and developing virtual reality and augmented reality technology, helping filmmakers and camera operators capture 360-degree content in a compelling way. The company utilizes an in-house engineering team and rapid prototype capabilities to provide filmmakers with the latest virtual reality tools and creative solutions.

Sonic Branding For Social Media: Engage, Align, Connect
By Chad Cook -- With more than five billion people accessing social media daily, savvy brands understand the importance of cultivating a strong social identity. They devote massive resources toward brand awareness, audience targeting, content strategy and community engagement. Yet, while they know that social platforms are critical to boosting sales and attracting new customers, many neglect one of the most effective tools for connecting with consumers: sonic branding. Marketers often associate sonic branding with catchy mnemonics used by big brands like McDonald’s, Netflix and Intel in their advertising. But that is a very limited view of what sonic branding is and what it can do. Sound has been scientifically proven to be deeply tied to memory and emotion. There’s a reason that certain songs stick in your head and bring back memories formed years or even decades earlier. So, it’s surprising that sonic branding is often an afterthought in marketing plans. That is especially true in social media marketing. Faced with tight deadlines and strained budgets, creative teams are often tempted to select music for their content simply because it “fits.” Unfortunately, that may result in content that is in tune with what’s trending but is out of tune with brand identity. Effective sonic branding, by contrast, requires thoughtful strategic planning,... Read More
