M-Audio®, a part of Avid Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: AVID), and a leading provider of creative tools for musicians, is proud to collaborate with premier electronic music resource Beatport to co-sponsor the Viva Music Tour. Having started in Montreal on October 16, 2008, artists Steve Lawler, Tiefschwarz and Audiofly are touring North America with a host of M-Audio gear. M-Audio has furnished the Viva Music tour bus with a complete music production studio, which will enable Lawler, Tiefschwarz and Audiofly to create original tracks and remixes while traveling between shows.
The tour bus studio features the industry-standard Pro Tools® M-Powered™ software and a variety of compatible M-Audio recording interfaces. It also includes the Torq® Xponent® DJ system, which will allow the artists to integrate DJ-style performance elements into their tracks. M-Audio Studiophile® BX8a Deluxe monitors and Studiophile® Q40 headphones provide an accurate reference system for listening to mixes.
The resulting collaborations will be released through Viva Music, Steve Lawler’s digital-only label, and distributed online by Beatport. Beatport will also provide daily coverage of the tour on their website, Beatportal.com.
“It is very exciting to know that when we finish a gig and we are all hyped up from the crowd, we can continue to create music once we are on the road to our next destination,” said DJ and house music pioneer Steve Lawler. “I think some really amazing music is going to come from this.”
“To have the chance to work on music together in the studio on the bus is an amazing opportunity,” added brothers Ali and Basti Schwarz from the Berlin-based duo Tiefschwarz. “All of this will help increase Tiefschwarz’s profile in America and in the electronic music community.”
“M-Audio is proud to be associated with such a dynamic project,” said Richard Ngo-Tran, M-Audio Marketing Manager. “By outfitting the tour bus with a production studio that is truly mobile, we are allowing these trendsetting artists to collaborate while on tour across North America. It’s a concept that really underscores M-Audio’s diversity in empowering artists.”
