Continuing to add to it’s roster of talented audio post engineers for film, television and advertising, The Lodge has added Jeff Hinton and Spencer Hall to it’s award-winning audio post team and has partnered with the newly-launched Hudson Edit in downtown Detroit to open a new 5.1 mix room.
Having mixed over 200 episodes of Pawn Stars, Hinton is best known for his mixing work on the hit TV series and, overall, for his dialogue editing, sound re-recording, sound design and ADR/VO recording. Having honed his skills initially at Howard Schwartz for ten years, Hinton bring 15 years of mixing, sound design and recording experience for major brands, sitcoms, films and TV series including Pawn Stars, Sex & The City, The Sopranos, Verizon, Nike, Coke, 30 Rock and many others.
“Having been able to answer us with a straight face when asked whether or not he could provide our clients with the sound of one hand clapping – it was clear Jeff was a lot more than a great reel,” said Colin Thibadeau, President of The Lodge Music, “He is talented, funny and terrific to work with and understands that the needs and demands of our clients come in many ways, shapes and sizes when it comes to audio post.”
“I love working with clients who are as passionate about their work as I am with engineering,” said Hinton, “Equally inspiring was joining a team who felt the same commitment as is getting to work out of one of NYC’s only Dolby approved 5.1 film mix theaters – an incredible room yielding great creative outcomes and experiences.”
Opening a room at the newly launched Hudson Edit in downtown Detroit, The Lodge is as excited about its new expansion into Detroit as it is its new engineer and music supervisor – Spencer Hall. With a stellar sound design reel that includes big brand spots from Ford, Lincoln, Chevy, and Toyota, Spencer’s particular expertise in creating new sounds and Foley have produced some impressive creative work. Spencer also brings a wealth of feature mixing and design work experience as well as expertise in audio restoration. Importantly, Spencer is also a veteran music supervisor and highly capable music editor bringing deep musical knowledge and a musician’s perspective to his work as well as passion from playing in a local Detroit band.
“We loved Spencer’s reel immediately and, after spending some time with him, we knew he would be a great fit for Hudson Edit and our Detroit clients,” said Larry August, co-founder of Hudson Edit with his partner Audrey Pask, “With a great backing team of audio post engineers and music supervisors at The Lodge, The Music Playground and The Diner we are excited to have Spencer on board and to form this creative alliance adding to an already exciting and capable team here in Detroit.”
“It feels great to have one home with two great companies behind me,” added Hall, “In Hudson, we have a unique Detroit-based talent pool and an incredible new facility that draws off of the vibe of being Downtown and being a part of the revival of our City. In The Lodge, we have a committed creative partner with deep Detroit roots and relationships and resources in New York and Los Angeles that include commercial, film and television talent.”
