KTM, one the world’s leading off-road, street, and sport motorcycle manufacturers, has teamed up with eyeball, a creative and strategic design agency based in New York City and Venice, CA, to produce their first 30 second television spot, for release in the USA. It premiered May 5, 2013.nnThe commercial both stars and was produced by an elite team of industry professionals on four famous motocross tracks: three in Southern California and one at Ricky Carmichael’s ranch in Georgia. The spot features pro riders Ryan Dungey, Marvin Musquin and Ken Roczen, KTM‘s 2013 250SX West champion.nnKTM sought to partner with an adept and versatile agency to help them gain consideration in the American market. KTM‘s Vice President of Marketing, Florian Burguet, approached eyeball‘s founder and Executive Creative Director, Limore Shur, himself an avid rider and supporter of motorsports. Lately, Shur has funneled his twin passions for riding and creative production into the development of a web series starring Chris Fillmore, a dynamic young racer sponsored by both KTM and Shur.nnThe new spot highlights technical racing power through an unconventionally stylistic presentation. eyeball, which has worked with diverse, world-class clients including Amazon, AOL, Aetna and Target, credits the authentic gravity of the spot to a policy of intimate and generous collaboration with clients. “The spot is really for the everyday rider, though it escalates to the professional KTM champions at the end of the spot,” Shur explains, adding, “it was an amazing four days of shooting incredible athletes with an awesome team.”nnMusic and sound design was developed under eyeball‘s Creative Director Alex Moulton. The adrenaline-filled dubstep soundtrack, composed expressly for this commercial by Freeform Five’s Anu Pillai, is already getting buzz on YouTube. Additionally, eyeball brought onboard the most talented, grass-roots production team in the moto-industry, Axom Digital, to capture their famously gritty angles on stunts that only 20-something riders (with a helicopter camera) would dare attack.nnAs a dedicated professional who’s also passionate about the sport, Limore Shur is precisely the spot’s target audience. In his words, “It takes a lot to keep the balance. You wake up at 5am, get ready, work hard and learn a lot about yourself through the challenges you face on and around the track.”nn
