Kodak will host its professional clients from around the world aboard the V.I.P. vessel, My Sunny Day, moored at “quai Albert Edouard” behind the Palais du Festival as part of its participation in the 55th Cannes Lions Advertising Festival.
Accessible by private invitation only, the boat will provide a private place for Kodak customers to meet and discuss mutual business opportunities in an exclusive, relaxing environment.
For the ninth consecutive year, Kodak will also sponsor the Young Director Award, an initiative of the Commercial Film Producers of Europe (CFP-E). This year marks the tenth anniversary of the award, which will be celebrated at an exclusive beach party on Wednesday June 18th.
“Commercials demand an incredible creative discipline that ultimately must make every second count”, says Nicole Phillips, Worldwide Commercials Segment Manager, Kodak Entertainment Imaging division. “With thousands of spots competing for attention within an ever-expanding media mix, they have just a moment to create viability, visibility and generate a desire to act. The most discerning creatives understand that film places any product or service in the best possible light and helps them get the attention they deserve”.
The festival provides a unique opportunity for creative directors, advertising executives, and craftspeople from the global advertising community to learn about emerging talent and share ideas about the future. It also provides an exceptional opportunity to see award-winning commercials and discover how they were created.
In addition to supporting the young directors, Kodak will, once again sponsor the AICP/CFP-E World Producers Summit. The forum is presented as a formal luncheon. This is an invitation only event, available exclusively to television commercial producers, that provides international participants the chance to network and discuss current issues facing television commercial production in a marketplace experiencing rapid technology convergence.
“The AICP and CFP-E have shown incredible vision in creating this forum and we are honoured to be involved”, says Phillips. “The World Producers Summit provides a great opportunity for us to gain insight into our customer’s issues. This helps us create products that are relevant to their needs as well as reinforce the value of film origination in a dynamic and interactive environment.”
Kodak will have international representation from six different countries across three regions attending the advertising festival.
