Kerner 3D Technologies, a division of the Marin, CA-based Kerner Group, has begun a strategic alliance in Europe with Band Pro Munich, GmbH. The announcement was made by Tim Partridge, President, The Kerner Group.
Following on the heels of the entertainment industry “debut” of Kerner 3D Technologies’ 3D Camera Rig, the Kernercam KC7000, at the recently held Directors Guild of America “Digital Day” in Hollywood, Kerner has struck a deal with Band Pro Munich. Under the agreement, Band Pro Munich will represent the unique Kerner 3D camera system and make it available to film, television, and advertising content producers located across Europe. Band Pro Munich will be showcasing the new Kernercam KC7000 during the upcoming IBC Convention, Sept. 9-14th, in Amsterdam, marking the European debut of this new 3D rig. Said Mr. Partridge, “It was exciting for us to present our Kernercam 3D rig for the first time to the Hollywood community at the DGA. We’d been in talks for a few weeks recently with the Band Pro company in Germany, and we are delighted to have concluded this strategic alliance with them right on the heels of our ‘coming out’ presentation in Hollywood. Band Pro Munich is extremely well connected with filmmakers, DPs, and video content producers throughout Europe.”
He adds, “Furthermore, renowned digital film expert Fred Myers will be working with Band Pro Munich to introduce the Kernercam to the European market and will assist in productions working in 3D there. We couldn’t be better positioned to introduce our 3D camera rig systems throughout Europe than through this new relationship with the digital technology experts at Band Pro.”
Gerhard Baier, Managing Director, Band Pro Munich, said, “The Kerner 3D Camera rig is extremely well-designed, easy to set-up, and a highly reliable system for anyone working in 3D, from new, up-and-coming indie filmmakers to renowned directors and DPs. We are proud to carry the new Kernercam rigs amongst our existing stable of high quality product, as our goal is to continue to assist productions with all of their digital cinematography needs.”
