The Mill is pleased to announce the arrival of Jo Arghiris as Executive Producer VFX, based in their Los Angeles studio after transferring from Mill New York where she served in the same capacity.
Jo is a highly talented executive producer with a wealth of knowledge and expertise working with brands and clients across the globe. In her new role, she will be charged with developing new client relationships as well as growing existing business within the Los Angeles market.
Jo comes to The Mill rising through the ranks of various Mill studios for the past 13 years, overseeing visual effects, animation and motion graphics commercial projects for brands such as PlayStation, Brand Jordan, Nike, Budweiser, Target, FedEx, Coca Cola and others. In 2000, she joined Mill London as a producer and was transferred to Mill New York in 2003 as senior producer. She was appointed Head of Production in 2008, where she oversaw day-to-day operations and production teams for all Mill NY VFX projects for the rapidly growing regional studio. Jo was then promoted to executive producer in 2011, where she became pivotal in establishing outstanding relationships with the industry’s most prolific Directors and creative forces including Traktor, Nicolai Fuglsig, Jake Scott, Filip Engstrom and Rupert Sanders, and on high profile campaigns for powerhouse agencies such as BBDO NY, Wieden+Kennedy,
Saatchi and Saatchi and Y&R.

Jo graduated from the University of London’s Goldsmith College, with a Master of Arts in both Political Science and Economics. She resides in Los Angeles with her husband, two young children and two dachshunds.

“Ǝvolution” Comes Full Circle At The Chelsea Film Festival
The Chelsea Film Festival, running from October 16th through October 20th, 2024, at Regal Cinemas here in Union Square, is set to host the East Coast premiere of Ǝvolution, a thought-provoking experimental micro-short film that proves big ideas can come in small packages and in perfect circles.
In just 1 minute 16 seconds, this cinematic gem by Award-Winning Director Romina Schwedler, with original music by Argentine Composer Ignacio Montoya Carlotto, explores a cycle as old as time: life leads to progress, progress leads to destruction, and destruction, well, leads back to life. But is this vicious circle unbreakable? Ǝvolution suggests the answer is yes, unless we decide to open our eyes.
Inspired by the overwhelming number of recent events that threaten human existence, Ǝvolution, possibly the shortest film in this 12th edition of the festival, plays out entirely through the symbolism of circles, cleverly illustrating —in the blink of an eye— the repeating patterns of history, and confronting viewers with the uncomfortable truth that our so-called “progress” may, in fact, be guiding us to our own ruin.Premiering at the Regal 14 Union Square, New York City, on October 18, 2024, at 11 a.m., Romina Schwedler's micro-short, featuring Leah Young with cinematography by Alan J.
