Co-chairmen of The International ANDY Awards, venerated industry creative Ty Montague and Michael Lebowitz, founder and CEO of Brooklyn-based creative agency Big Spaceship, announced today the launch of a global “Call for Entries” creative challenge developed in partnership with Victors & Spoils.
The online effort invites people from around the world to submit original, creative concepts promoting the The 2011 International Awards call for entries. The person behind the chosen entry will be awarded the last remaining seat on next year’s prestigious ANDY Awards Jury.
“With the ‘Call for Entries’ creative challenge, we hope to increase global involvement in the ANDY Awards beyond standard industry channels,” said Montague. “By engaging people across the globe and empowering them to participate in industry forums like the ANDYs, we hope to create a greater sense of community and open new doors for the creative leaders of the future.”
The ANDYs “Call for Entries” project will be conducted using a new digital platform from Victors & Spoils called “The Squirrel Fight,” which enables the greater creative community to submit ideas into a simple, online template. Ideas proposed through “The Squirrel Fight” will be shortlisted by Evan Fry and Noah Clark of Victors & Spoils, with the triumvirate of Montague, Lebowitz and Fry making the final selection. This marks the first project open to the public on the Victors & Spoils “Squirrel Fight.”
“Our collaboration with Victors & Spoils is a nod to an industry in transition and was born out of the belief that the future of the industry will be discovered and shaped by the best people working together across disciplines and locations,” said Lebowitz. “We’re thrilled to team up The ANDYs with Victors & Spoils and help inspire the evolution of an industry that was once very insular.”
“We’re grateful for the opportunity to partner with the ANDYs team and are excited to provide a tool that transforms the traditional notion of ‘crowdsourcing’ into a better, more collaborative way to creatively solve problems together,” said Fry.
The deadline for ANDYs “Call for Entries” submissions is September 1, 2010 and the chosen concept will be announced on September 7, 2010. To submit creative concepts to “The Squirrel Fight,” entrants should visit http://victorsandspoils.com/squirrelfight.
