Fortium, innovative provider of digital content security solutions to the media and entertainment industry, will demonstrate MediaSeal LiveFolders™, its new encryption on-the-fly technology, with Signiant at IBC 2017. LiveFolders functionality will be shown as an enhanced security feature interoperating with Signiant’s Media Shuttle, the industry-standard software-as-a-service solution for sending and sharing large media files. The demo can be seen at the Signiant stand, 14.L08.
LiveFolders enhances cybersecurity by making encryption happen automatically and transparently to the user. Files are encrypted instantly when saved to a Live Folder and decrypted automatically when accessed by an authenticated user. As a new feature of Media Shuttle, LiveFolders ensures that files are encrypted whenever they are created, saved or transferred. Sensitive content is kept safe from hackers and accidental sharing with unauthorized parties.
“LiveFolders is an essential component to total workflow security,” said Fortium CEO Mathew Gilliat-Smith. “It makes encryption fast, simple and routine. It avoids common human errors, such as sending a file to the wrong party, that can lead to costly security breaches.”
Signiant is the leading provider of SaaS solutions for fast, reliable global access to media files, and is offering LiveFolders as an enhanced security option for Media Shuttle. LiveFolders will allow Media Shuttle users to seamlessly protect content while using the product normally. Files copied to or created in Live Folder are encrypted at rest and in transfer.
“We're working closely with customers to accommodate their desire for the Media Shuttle framework to support a broad range of workflows, and we are excited to be demonstrating Fortium’s security in Media Shuttle for situations where extreme content security is paramount,” said Margaret Craig, CEO at Signiant.
Media Shuttle is used by hundreds of thousands of media professionals around the world. Delivered as a SaaS solution, Shuttle's simple Web interface provides authenticated users with access to files stored within the enterprise or in the cloud.
“The continuing high profile cyber breaches of unreleased TV and movie content means that applying security across the whole workflow, not just in transfer, is no longer just an option – it’s a necessity,” said Gilliat- Smith. “Customers naturally want our software to work well with their other mission- critical applications, so alignment with Media Shuttle is in high demand.”

But that is a very limited view of what sonic branding is and what it can do. Faced with tight deadlines and strained budgets, creative teams are often tempted to select music for their content simply because it “fits.” Unfortunately, that may result in content that is in tune with what’s trending but is out of tune with brand identity. Effective sonic branding, by contrast, requires thoughtful strategic planning,... Read More
