Hung Le and Ricardo Roberts are very proud to announce the launch of their new motion design studio BIEN (http://thisisbien.com), effective immediately. Hung, an accomplished designer who previously ran a boutique motion design studio in New York City and Los Angeles, will serve as Creative Director. His portfolio includes high-profile projects for the likes of The World Bank, R/GA, IBM, Weber Shandwick, USAID, and Netflix, among many others. Ricardo, who has spent most of the past 19 years as a Partner at production company Myriad Media, will serve as BIEN's Executive Producer.
Both Hung and Ricardo came to America at an early age with their families, giving them unique perspectives and outlooks. At age sixteen, Hung fled Vietnam as a refugee and settled in Texas, where he went on to earn his B.A. at The University of Houston. He quickly fell in love with motion design and established himself as a highly sought-after freelance creative at firms like Digital Kitchen, Elastic, WeAreRoyale, Brand New School and other industry leaders.
For Ricardo, life began in Ecuador, thanks to his American father who was a Peace Corps volunteer, and his Ecuadorian mother, who ran an orphanage. After studying 3D animation at Full Sail University, Ricardo proved himself an invaluable member of the team at Myriad Media, at first in production, but ultimately as the firm's Marketing Director. Over the past decade, he has been responsible for building and maintaining key business relationships with brand and agency executives at 72andSunny, IBM, McKinney, and Sustainable Harvest International, to name but a few. For the latter entity, he produced and directed the 2008 short documentary "Planting Hope" exploring the Honduran landscape and grassroots agricultural reform.
With their new venture, both entrepreneurs are united in creating a respected design shop known for its creative output – but also for helping the underserved. Ultimately, their goal is to give back to their communities by funding design-focused elementary schools in Ecuador and Vietnam.
"Every project with us starts strategically, based on human-centered design thinking and process," Hung began. "We also have this unique emphasis: helping brands increase market share through inclusive marketing."
"BIEN exists to bring cultures together," Ricardo added. "We see ourselves as good people who believe in good ideas and good design. We also set out to do good in the world every day. These are the reasons we've chosen to call our company BIEN."

Boris FX Brings Greater ML Power To Continuum’s Video Editing and Visual Effects Toolkit
Boris FX announces the release of Continuum 2025, which strengthens its machine-learning capabilities with a growing list of creative effects and innovative tools. The award-winning plugin collection now includes six internally developed, ethically trained ML-driven effects that streamline workflows and save artists valuable time. Continuum 2025 is available with subscription pricing starting at $195/year. “Continuum’s two new ML effects take tasks that are traditionally tricky, applying dynamic motion blur to live action shots and concealing license plate identifiers, and provides users with speedy and accurate one-click solutions,” says Boris Yamnitsky, President and Founder of Boris FX. “The addition of Motion Blur ML and License Plate ML highlights Continuum’s continuing push towards developing ML-driven post-production tools that take the guesswork out of laborious tasks while ensuring artists maintain their creative freedom.” “Continuum 2025’s standout effect is Motion Blur ML. Its machine-learning optical flow only blurs the moving section of a shot, isolating and leaving untouched sections with none or less motion,” states Ra-ey Saleh, offline & online editor (Discovery, TLC, HGTV). “It's perfect for any type of production, making it easy to add an extra layer of realism or more in-your-face stylization to video and text.” ML Technology BCC+ Motion Blur ML uses a sophisticated ML algorithm to instantly detect pixel movement and apply realistic motion blur to video and motion graphics. Users can adjust blur intensity and direction (forward, backward, or a combination) or... Read More
