HimAnI Productions, Inc., a boutique visual effects design and production company co-founded by veteran visual effects artists Kevin Kutchaver, an Emmy(R) Award winner, and award winning animator Kathy Zielinski, has announced its latest VFX projects, covering the gamut of film, TV and direct-to-DVD releases.
HimAnI Productions has provided over 50 VFX shots to the hit 20th Century Fox feature film “Max Payne,” starring Mark Wahlberg. The film, currently the # 1 hit in the country, is based on the hit video game of the same name. Directed by John Moore, “Max Payne” was released on October 17th.
Mr. Kutchaver will serve as 2nd Unit Director on the remake of the horror film “The Children of the Corn,” for the Sci-Fi Channel, under producer/director Donald P. Borchers. HimAnI Productions will also provide all of the visual effects for the new “Children of the Corn” project.
In addition, HimAnI Productions will create and produce over 100 FX shots for the direct-to-home video DVD release of “Starship Troopers 3,” for client Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. HimAnI Productions is also currently producing an all CG/animated film entitled “Hide and Seek,” written and directed by Kathy Zielinski, HimAnI co-founder. The stylized horror film depicts a “toy’s nightmare.”
And, Mr. Kutchaver is also the Visual FX Supervisor for the independent horror film “Don’t Look Up,” currently in post production. The film, from director Fruit Chan and writer Hideo Nakata, stars “ET’s” Henry Thomas. The storyline of “Don’t Look Up” revolves around evil spirits which become released from old celluloid, causing a film crew in production on a new project to slowly go insane.

With over 25 years of experience in the visual effects industry, Kevin Kutchaver, an Emmy Award winner (for Visual Effects for “Lost,”) has worked on the design, creation and production of visual effects for over 200 feature films and television projects, including “Return of the Jedi,” “Ghostbusters II,” “Beetlejuice,” “Honey I Shrunk the Kids,” “Addams Family I and II,” the “RoboCop” films, and “Big Trouble in Little China.” He also animated and composited digital effects for the critically acclaimed television series “Babylon 5.” Prior to Himani Productions, Kutchaver had been President and Founder of Flat Earth Productions, one of Hollywood’s leading visual effects houses, best known for its work on the TV series “Hercules” and “Xena,” and on the feature films “Blade,” “Mortal Kombat II,” and “Dungeons and Dragons.”
In addition to her role with HimAnI, Ms. Zielinski has also been since l996, and remains, an Animator with Dreamworks Feature Animation. Most recently, she was worked on such hit films as “Bee Movie” and “Kung Fu Panda.” During her earlier years with Dreamworks, she has animated characters appearing in such films as “The Prince of Egypt,” “The Road to El Dorado,” and “Spirit of the Cimmaron.” Prior to Dreamworks, she was an animator for 13 years with the Walt Disney Studios, working on such films as “The Black Cauldron,” “The Great Mouse Detective,” “The Little Mermaid,” “The Rescuers Down Under,” “Aladdin,” and “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”
