    Hey Beautiful Jerk Brings New Life To The Golden Hand For Midas

    With Midas' "The Voice," The Martin Agency and Midas created an updated campaign for Sherman the Midas Gold Hand. Hey Beautiful Jerk was tasked with transitioning the existing live action character into CGI.

    The Martin Agency and Midas roll out three new golden hand spots featuring the visual affects artistry of Hey Beautiful Jerk.

    NEW YORK -- (SPW) --

    Hey Beautiful Jerk had the pleasure of teaming up with The Martin Agency and Midas to create an updated campaign for Sherman the Midas Gold Hand. HBJ was tasked with transitioning the existing live action character into CGI. Working closely with Community Films director Clay Williams and Whiskytree in San Francisco, HBJ was able to create these funny and unique spots for Midas.

    “We loved the challenge of re-designing and re-building an existing character in CGI with The Martin Agency. We had a great time while making great work.” said Mark Szumski, co-owner and creative director at HBJ. “Character animation, creative visual effects and photo real rendering are what we excel at here at HBJ. This project had all three so this really was a dream project for us.”

    “When it was time to seek help with bringing the CGI hand to life, it was a no-brainer to reach out to HBJ.” said Justin Harris, associate creative director at Martin. “I’ve had the pleasure of working with Mark and Gina on several projects for GEICO and they always bring so much more to the project beyond just creating stunning visuals. You just know they’ll exceed what you had in your head by a long shot.”

    Union’s Tim Thornton-Allan Edits Santa’s ‘Naughty List’ for Toyota

    There's still time to set things right...

    We may not get a second chance to make a first impression, but when the opportunity presents itself to right our wrongs in time for Christmas, we should seize the moment. In a new holiday spot for Toyota, a little boy realizes he is probably on Santa’s “Naughty List” and resolves to do something about it. The spot was created via Conill Advertising, produced by MJZ, directed by Fredrik Bond, and edited by Tim Thornton-Allan of Union Editorial/Los Angeles and Marshall Street Editors/London. Watching a program on his iPad in the back seat of his dad’s Toyota Tundra, our young protagonist receives a warning: “If you’ve been naughty, Santa won’t bring you any presents.” The lad wastes no time: “Papa! Turn back!” he commands. Father and son proceed to make the rounds, stopping at school, the neighbors, and elsewhere around the neighborhood, to set things right and deliver apologies. The boy even goes so far as to make amends with his little sister - returning the head of a favorite doll. The child’s restitution has the desired effect, and on Christmas morning, he receives exactly the gift he’d asked for. Judging by what he does next, he may have his work cut out for him next year, but we can all just take things one “Naughty List” at a time. Read More
