Morten Tyldum, director of “Headhunters“, the most successful Norwegian film of all time, has joined Bully Pictures for exclusive representation for advertising work in the United States. Tyldum, who recently signed with Vendome Pictures to direct his first American feature (“What Happened to Monday?”) is sought after internationally for his work in commercials. His spot work has garnered two Cannes Lions as well as numerous other creative awards.

Tyldum was born in Norway and studied filmmaking at the School of Visual Arts in New York. He began directing commercials in the late ’90s and quickly established himself as a master storyteller with a gift for subtle humor. His 2002 spot "Football Baby" (a winner of a Cannes Bronze Lion) for the Scandinavian brand Stratos tells the charming story of a boy who prepares a candlelight dinner for his parents in hopes (later realized) that they would provide him with a younger brother to play soccer with. Last year, he won a second Bronze Lion for the Asan spot "Shower Like a Man" in which buff British actor Anthony Topham takes a shower in a way that pokes fun at overly glamorized beauty ads for women.
Tyldum’s credits also include work for Coca-Cola, Volkswagen, IKEA, McDonalds, Texaco, SAS and Canal Plus. His most recent work includes a spot for the Volkswagen Golf in which a man suspects his wife of cheating only to find himself seduced by a sporty sedan. He also helmed a McDonald’s commercial now airing in the US market.
"Headhunters", which has been compared to "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo", is a psychological thriller based on the bestseller by Jo Nesbo. The film in presently in theaters in North America via Magnolia Pictures. NPR critic Bob Mondello described it as a crime thriller “raised to a fine art.” Summit bought the rights to an English-language remake. Tyldum’s first feature, "Buddy", won for Best Film at Norway’s Amanda Awards.
