Hawthorne Direct, a full-service brand response advertising agency, has named Steve Jurgensen as the agency's new Director of Finance & Operations. Jessica Hawthorne-Castro, CEO, Hawthorne Direct, to whom Jurgensen will report, made the announcement. Jurgensen will be based in Denver, CO, and will travel regularly to both of Hawthorne Direct's offices in Los Angeles and Fairfield, Iowa.

Steve Jurgensen was previously the Corporate Controller for The Integer Group, a consolidated agency comprised of nine agencies with 23 global locations, reporting into the TBWA network of Omnicom.  In this role, he was responsible for consolidated financial reporting and financial planning consolidations and submissions, as well as financial analysis, resource planning analysis, shared services, profitability initiatives and ERP implementations.  Prior to joining Hawthorne Direct, Jurgensen was the CFO/ Director of Finance & Operations for a regional digital advertising agency based in Denver, CO. There, he implemented a revenue recognition processes, resource utilization management, and the implementation of a company wide ERP system.
Jurgensen also has extensive experience as a consultant, assisting major corporations with critical initiatives, including, most recently, First Data Corporation and QEP Resources. For First Data Corporation, he led a team of six to provide an end-to-end evaluation of credit operations - an initiative from the company's new CEO. As such, he evaluated and provided process improvement recommendations on the accounting and operational processes that comprised First Data Corporation's Credit Operations. At QEP Resources, a major oil & gas company, he provided Sarbanes Oxley compliance and SAP (systems, applications and products) implementation support.
From 2003 - 2008, Jurgensen implemented Sarbanes Oxley compliance while leading large implementation teams at large public companies. These included ADT - a TYCO Company, HomeStreet Bank, Jacobs Entertainment, The Great-West Life Assurance Company, GAIM and Vitro Manufacturing.  
Jurgensen holds an Accounting Degree from the University of Northern Iowa.
