JWT is pleased to announce the appointment of Guy Hayward as Chief Executive Officer of JWT in the UK.
Reporting to Toby Hoare, Chairman and CEO of JWT Europe, Hayward will be responsible for the JWT Group in the UK where he will oversee and help to develop the Group’s integrated proposition. He intends to put long-term creative brand building at the top of his agenda and sees preparing the agency for the future as one of his challenges. “Our business has entered a totally new era and I’m delighted to have the opportunity to help lead JWT into this.”
A Co-Founder and Partner of 180 (based in Amsterdam and Los Angeles) Guy is known for his entrepreneurial spirit, his global vision and his ability to create synergies between disparate entities. He nurtured the company from its foundation to one of the most successful independent agency start-ups, 180’s clients include adidas, Sony and Glenfiddich. During his tenure Guy helped launch the ‘Impossible is Nothing’ campaign for adidas, which was instrumental in repositioning the brand as a true competitor to Nike. adidas was named advertiser of the year in 2006 at Cannes.
Guy originally joined JWT London in 1987 as a Graduate Trainee, eventually moving to JWT Barcelona as an Account Director in 1990. This was followed by a move to WCRS and then to Wieden + Kennedy Amsterdam where Guy’s team produced some of the most awarded creative work for Nike to date.
Guy Hayward says of his return to JWT, “I have a strong attachment to JWT. The agency gave me my start in advertising and my first taste of international business. It taught me much of what I still consider important in advertising today.”
