Sheppard will be represented by Executive Producers Cayce Cole and Melissa Culligan for commercials and Sue Yeon Ahn for music videos
Award-winning director, artist, graphic designer and photographer Graydon Sheppard has just signed on to The Directors Bureau for commercial and music video representation. He is the latest addition to a platinum roster of other multi-talents that includes Roman Coppola, Sofia Coppola, Mike Mills, Patrick Daughters, Melodie McDaniel and Aaron Rose. Sheppard will be represented by Executive Producers Cayce Cole and Melissa Culligan for commercials and Sue Yeon Ahn for music videos.
Because American audiences best know Sheppard as the co-creator and star of the popular video series “Shit Girls Say,” which has received over 20 million hits since its launch in December, they might be surprised to learn that this Canadian native earned his MFA in film from Columbia University, and that even before he completed his degree, he had directed commercials for clients such as Nokia, United Way, Desjardins General Insurance, and Mac’s Convenience Stores, for which he won a both a Bessie and a D&AD Award. He also directed a campaign for Scream TV, which won him a Silver Media Lion at Cannes in 2007. He has directed music videos for artists such as The Hidden Cameras, Brazilian Girls, Ariel Rubin, and Sebastien Grainger, which he was nominated for a 2009 Much Music Award for Best Indie Video. Sheppard was the designer and photographer for the album artwork for Find The Others, and was nominated for a Juno award for his graphic design work on Feist’s Metals. Since 2004, he has exhibited his art and photography in both New York and Toronto galleries.
“What immediately impressed us about Graydon was that even though his gifts are wide-ranging, all of his work is executed with complete confidence and vision,” said EP Melissa Culligan, “we all believe he’s a perfect fit for The Bureau, and are very excited to be working with him.” Sheppard shares The Bureau’s enthusiasm for their new partnership. “I was a fan of The Directors Bureau and their work long before I even started directing,” he explained. “The work they produced reached the wilds of my small town in Canada, and what I saw was so exciting that I even acted out one of their videos at a lip sync competition in high school. It’s true, I have proof…very embarrassing proof,” he laughed, and went on to say, “when I met with the team in Los Angeles, I instantly felt at home, and now I’m so proud to be a part of this incredible company.”
About The Directors Bureau

“Ǝvolution” Comes Full Circle At The Chelsea Film Festival
The Chelsea Film Festival, running from October 16th through October 20th, 2024, at Regal Cinemas here in Union Square, is set to host the East Coast premiere of Ǝvolution, a thought-provoking experimental micro-short film that proves big ideas can come in small packages and in perfect circles.
In just 1 minute 16 seconds, this cinematic gem by Award-Winning Director Romina Schwedler, with original music by Argentine Composer Ignacio Montoya Carlotto, explores a cycle as old as time: life leads to progress, progress leads to destruction, and destruction, well, leads back to life. But is this vicious circle unbreakable? Ǝvolution suggests the answer is yes, unless we decide to open our eyes.
Inspired by the overwhelming number of recent events that threaten human existence, Ǝvolution, possibly the shortest film in this 12th edition of the festival, plays out entirely through the symbolism of circles, cleverly illustrating —in the blink of an eye— the repeating patterns of history, and confronting viewers with the uncomfortable truth that our so-called “progress” may, in fact, be guiding us to our own ruin.Premiering at the Regal 14 Union Square, New York City, on October 18, 2024, at 11 a.m., Romina Schwedler's micro-short, featuring Leah Young with cinematography by Alan J. Carmona, will be sure to spark conversations longer than the film itself! Forcing viewers to reconsider the true meaning of evolution, not just as a biological process, but as a reflection of our collective journey as humans.
