GPL Technologies, a premier provider of technology solutions and managed services to the media and entertainment industry, will showcase agile pipeline solutions for visual effects companies offered by its VFXnow division at SIGGRAPH 2015 in Los Angeles, Booth 206.
VFXnow has developed a unique Hardware as a Service (HaaS) model where visual effects companies lease rather than buy hardware, allowing them to quickly and economically ramp up production pipelines to meet project needs. Workstations, rendering systems and storage capacity can be added without long-term investment costs, and with the support of an experienced, production-minded engineering team.

Los Angeles visual effects studio Pixomondo employed VFXnow to add rendering capacity and other IT systems while producing visual effects for the films Star Trek and Oblivion. “VFXnow provides the technology we need for the time that we need it,” explains Felix Fissel, Pixomondo’s Head of IT. “It gives us flexibility, which is what we need most.”

In addition to SIGGRAPH GPL will host a party and technology demonstration on Wednesday August 19th, from 6:30-9:30pm, at Jillian’s in Universal City.
