VFX Agency UtopiaPeople Growing Stronger
International freelance agency UtopiaPeople has surpassed 10.000 members in the VFX and AD industry, allowing them to offer their clients an even better selection for recruiting high end artists within short notice. With growth has also come a better understanding of what our clients need. Their project contract service, for those needing freelancers for a set period of time, is now free to the hiring companies.
UtopiaPeople have also decided to have a fixed price for permanent recruitment as well as for their new Ad placing service. Over the last month, UtopiaPeople has also updated the usability of the website and also added their very own sales and marketing department!
“We are very happy that we have reached so many members and stepping up our position as the one stop shop for high end companies that quickly needs talents within postproduction, games and production. We are also super excited about our new sales and marketing department that will make us more visible on the market!” says Stefan Ström, co-founder.

About UtopiaPeople
UtopiaPeople was founded in 2007 by Stefan Ström (TVC editor) and Hanna Kallin (booking coordinator) to help clients quickly recruit and find freelancers for shorter contract jobs and permanent recruitment. The business started out locally in Sweden, but very soon after starting, we had made recruitments in over 30 countries and grown to over 10,000 members. Today the idea is still the same but we have also added other services to our portfolio. In November 2011 we also started representing companies and included freelancers working with new media (digital/web) in our roster. All our members and companies are represented on a non-exclusive basis. Today we work with TV, features, commercials, games, VFX and new media. www.utopiapeople.com

“Ǝvolution” Comes Full Circle At The Chelsea Film Festival
The Chelsea Film Festival, running from October 16th through October 20th, 2024, at Regal Cinemas here in Union Square, is set to host the East Coast premiere of Ǝvolution, a thought-provoking experimental micro-short film that proves big ideas can come in small packages and in perfect circles.
In just 1 minute 16 seconds, this cinematic gem by Award-Winning Director Romina Schwedler, with original music by Argentine Composer Ignacio Montoya Carlotto, explores a cycle as old as time: life leads to progress, progress leads to destruction, and destruction, well, leads back to life. But is this vicious circle unbreakable? Ǝvolution suggests the answer is yes, unless we decide to open our eyes.
Inspired by the overwhelming number of recent events that threaten human existence, Ǝvolution, possibly the shortest film in this 12th edition of the festival, plays out entirely through the symbolism of circles, cleverly illustrating —in the blink of an eye— the repeating patterns of history, and confronting viewers with the uncomfortable truth that our so-called “progress” may, in fact, be guiding us to our own ruin.Premiering at the Regal 14 Union Square, New York City, on October 18, 2024, at 11 a.m., Romina Schwedler's micro-short, featuring Leah Young with cinematography by Alan J. Carmona, will be sure to spark conversations longer than the film itself! Forcing viewers to reconsider the true meaning of evolution, not just as a biological process, but as a reflection of our collective journey as humans.
With a string of festival appearances across the globe, including CineGlobe at CERN (Switzerland/France), Oscar®... Read More
