Leading creative editors Lisa Mogol, Cindy Nielsen, Christopher Pensiero and Bryan Wetzel are joining the commercial roster of award-winning edit studio Bikini Edit. The roster additions are effective immediately, and were announced by Bikini Edit and SITE 57's owner Avi Oron, together with executive producer Cary Flaum.
According to Oron, his recent launch of the SITE 57 gallery space along with Bikini Edit in New York's Lower East Side Gallery District has successfully heightened artistic connections around his well-known edit studio. "What we are doing with SITE 57 is earning a lot of attention in the creative industry, and that includes attracting these four talented editors who all have built extremely successful careers as freelancers," Oron confirmed. "There has always been a lot of synergy between art and advertising – we are very proud to be putting a spotlight on that fascinating intersection."
"Even as the advertising industry continues to change, talent remains of the utmost importance," added Flaum. "Strategically expanding our offerings through these editors gives us the ability to service our clients better by offering a wider range of creative solutions, in addition to storytelling. Also, because of their deep industry connections, Lisa, Cindy, Chris and Bryan are already in a position to unify the vibrant creative advertising community around Bikini."
Distinguished among the most accomplished editors in the advertising industry, Mogol was previously on the roster of Moondog Editorial, and prior to that, Company X and Mad River Post. Well known for her breakthrough extended-length projects for Ralph Lauren, Sports Illustrated and Vault Soda, Mogol's work with premier talents also includes the critically acclaimed feature film "Sting: When the Last Ship Sails" – and music videos for Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Hopewell and Travis. Lisa's short-form reel spans from the epic to the very personal, serving brands including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Folgers, Jif, Jockey, Michael Kors, Pepsi, Smuckers and many others in the past year alone – including three separate campaigns for major Olympic sponsors in 2016.
An award-winning commercial editor with more than 20 years of experience, Nielsen's earlier staff positions at Homestead Editorial and Chinagraph Editorial helped her perfect her craft on numerous prominent campaigns. Before beginning her freelance career in 2007, she had already cut campaigns for Claritin, Dove, Hershey's, Maybelline and Philips (Ad Age Digital Campaign of the Year, Cannes Gold Cyber Lion winner, Effie Gold and Silver Award winner, among many others) via agencies Euro, Gotham, Ogilvy, Rapp Collins, Tribal Worldwide, Y&R and more. In 2010, Nielsen launched Eye Candy Edit in partnership with Pensiero, who is her husband. As a freelance editor working through Eye Candy, Nielsen's ever-expanding archive of sensational commercials and web videos continues to grow through collaborations with leading agencies, animation houses and production companies.
Another rising NYC-based editor who came into his own at Chinagraph Editorial, Pensiero also focused on editing during his seven-year stint with the company, which followed many years of production work on feature films. Spreading his wings as a freelance editor in 2006, Pensiero launched Eye Candy Edit alongside Nielsen in 2010. Over the past decade, his commercial work has won virtually every major advertising industry award, spanning the full media spectrum and reflecting his high-level working relationships with creative industry leaders. He has also gone on to earn editorial credits on numerous feature films. Among those is the acclaimed documentary "Swing State Ohio" and the groundbreaking narrative features "12 and Holding," "Hounddog" and "AWOL."
Also among NYC's busiest freelancers over the past several years, Wetzel is a premier editor of comedic and visual storytelling in commercials, who also has a passion for documentary films. By virtue of his solid relationships with leading creatives, producers and directors, his most recent commercial credits include campaigns for Comcast, IBM, Lowes, Starburst, Tide, UPS, Verizon FIOS and Wendy's, among many others. His ongoing documentary work for the ALS Foundation also stands out among Wetzel's many passion projects.
