Four of the nine films nominated for this year’s Academy Award for Best Picture relied on Codex technology for digital recording and workflow management. Additionally, Codex technology was employed by two films nominated for Best Cinematography, “Life of Pi” and “Skyfall” (Sam Mendes, director; Roger Deakins, cinematographer); two films nominated for Best Foreign Film “Amour” and “Kon-Tiki (Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg, directors; Geir Hartly Andreassen, cinematographer) and two films nominated for Best Visual Effects, “Life of Pi” and “Avengers” (Joss Whedon, director; Seamus McGarvey, cinematographer; Janek Sirrs, visual effects supervisor).
