Burbank, CA -- (SPW) -- The Foundation, a full-service post production provider, has opened its doors in Burbank, California. The 5,700 square foot facility offers offline rentals, on-set, near-set and traditional dailies, online editing, color correction, visual effects, titling, and delivery. Conveniently located in the heart of the city's Media District, The Foundation is now providing services for broadcast television, OTT content, music videos, commercials and feature film. The facility's clients include ABC's The Real O'Neals, The CW's iZombie and the new 20th Century Fox series Shots Fired.
Co-founded by industry veterans Gareth Cook and Clifton Dugan, The Foundation is built on a team that offers years of experience and expertise to the company's clientele. "The Foundation is bringing back the boutique facility in a new and more powerful way," said Cook, Managing Partner and Senior Colorist for The Foundation. "Our team has an incredibly extensive background in post, from the days of film to the development of today's file-based workflows. With workflows constantly changing and deliverables multiplying rapidly, our goal is to bring efficiencies to the process, giving clients the freedom to explore inspiration and creativity. Our size allows us to adjust and move nimbly to really meet our customers' needs, and today's technology allows us to deliver the same services as the larger facilities, but in a much more client friendly environment."
The Foundation is "powered by" Sixteen19 and Vortechs, with both partner companies providing supporting services to the new Burbank facility. Sixteen19 has locations in New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, London and Vancouver, providing location-based dailies, DI color, and VFX services. "We are thrilled to be partnering with Gareth, Cliff and Vortechs in The Foundation," noted Peter Conlin, Managing Partner at Sixteen19. "The Foundation gives us the perfect link between our facility in New York and our other offices, as we continue to expand to support our clients' evolving, global needs."
Vortechs, based in Los Angeles, California, began as an Avid rental and support company and has grown to be a worldwide leader in post production solutions. "The Foundation will help us provide our clients with the additional services they have been asking for," commented Jim Longeretta, Managing Partner of Vortechs. "Partnering with The Foundation allows us to expand our offerings, while maintaining the high level of quality we are known for. As a global provider of post services, we are very excited to be involved in this new venture, and we know that the benefits to our customers will be tremendous."
The latest products from a number of leading vendors are at work in the state-of-the-art facility; including Avid, Autodesk and Blackmagic Design. "We've invested in the equipment we need to get the job done, but it is the way our team is deploying the gear that is really important," noted Dugan, Managing Partner and Head of Business Development for The Foundation. "Our Director of Engineering, John Stevens, and Technical Director, Dan Aguilar, have used their combined knowledge to push the envelope of technology to enhance a client's experience. The gear is important, but The Foundation is built on our very talented team. It's the people that make the difference."
Gareth Cook's career as a Senior Colorist has spanned over 20 years. He has worked at Technicolor, Laser Pacific Media Corp., MTI Film, and Ascent Media. His credits include CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Scandal, and How to Get Away with Murder. Clifton Dugan has spent over 25 years in the television and film industry focusing on post production. Prior to The Foundation, Dugan served as Vice President of Technical Sales at Technicolor, EVP of Laser Pacific's Television Division, and Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Ascent Media.
