Newly formed FLEX Creative, a creative services agency specializing in the design and production of promotional and in-show content for broadcast television, cable and streaming industry clients, programs, and projects, across all media platforms, has named Marty Wall, Director, Business Development. Prior to joining FLEX, Wall had been Business Development Consultant with Troika. The announcement was made by Peter Martin, Founder/Chief Creative Director, FLEX.
Wall, a seasoned sales and marketing executive, has extensive expertise in new business development, account supervision, creative management and agency growth building. During his career, Wall has developed and managed multi-million dollar accounts, such as the ABC Network, BSkyB, CBS Television, Fandango and ProSeiben. He has also developed and produced work for The Grammys, The Primetime Emmy Awards, CNN, Tribune Media Group, VH-1, and the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
Said Martin, “We are thrilled to have Marty join FLEX. He offers our new agency extensive business development skills, combined with proven marketing and promotion management practices. He is a senior manager that is extremely adaptable, resourceful and diplomatic, and is skilled at collaborating with clients and organizations both large and small. And because of his background as a creative director, he understands the process and challenges facing the collaboration between clients and the agency. He is an ideal complement to our new team.”
Adds Wall, "Having spent many years as a creative before becoming a business developer, I was looking to join an agency that understood storytelling and how to connect with audiences. And, that's what Peter Martin’s new team here at FLEX does best. I also desired to work with a company that leaned in to the rapidly changing media environment – one that would be able to ‘flex’ itself to accommodate tighter budgets and quicker turnarounds. At the end of the day, FLEX provides two things – creative and services. Being super focused on the ever changing challenges of our clients is critical to our success and theirs. I am delighted to have joined FLEX right at its inception – it’s an exciting time in the industry – one which FLEX is well positioned to embrace.”
About MARTY WALL
Marty Wall is a 25 year veteran of the entertainment, broadcasting and media industries. Just prior to joining FLEX Creative, Wall had been hired by Troika founder Dan Pappalardo to consult that branding firm on new business development. During his two and a half years with the agency, Wall's efforts included securing syndication launch work from Disney (even conceiving and writing the spot that won Troika the account), brand strategy and corporate identity work for programmatic ad tech firm YuMe, and establishing and supervising Troika's first eSports client Riot Games, a million dollar plus account today.
From 2012-13, Wall worked as a Marketing Producer with CBS Television Distribution. During this time, he developed and managed the national radio promotional campaign supporting the launch of the new “Arsenio Hall Show.” Wall wrote and produced local television contest spots and radio spots, and negotiated a seven figure national spot buy with iHeartMedia, CBS Radio and Tribune.
As Senior Creative Director with Mdots Creative & Design (2006-2010) Wall oversaw creative management of that LA-based creative services agency which provides design, campaign development and motion graphics for the television industry. Wall’s responsibilities included business development, direction of all strategy and creative efforts for annual accounts and project clients including: “The Primetime Emmy Awards,” The Grammy Awards,” The Tony Awards,” Animal Planet, BET, CBS, Disney, NBC, FOX, FX, Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, TV GUIDE and the “Super Bowl Halftime Show.”
From 2001-2005, Wall was Co-Founder of WALL/EVERETT, where he served as Executive Producer/Creative Director. The company’s clients included ABC, AOL Television, Court TV, King World, Martha Stewart Productions, Paramount Domestic Television and Tribune Media Group.
Wall was Senior Vice President, Advertising and Promotion Group & Account Services, with Pittard Sullivan, the internationally acclaimed design and production agency (1996-2001). As such, he supervised the day-to-day operations of the advertising and promotional clients and projects handled by the agency. His responsibilities included new business and strategic development, account supervision, managing creative and production staffs and vendor relationships. Wall’s Executive Producer credits with Pittard Sullivan included projects for ABC Network, CBS Network, Columbia/Tri-Star Television, Disney, Fandango, FX, Paramount Pictures, ProSieben, VH-1, and a seven million dollar rebrand of BSkyB.
In the late ‘90s, Wall moved to Los Angeles to launch a creative agency and production company, Hippie Boy Films, designed to service the network and cable television industry. Wall’s first project for NBC was writing and producing the famous promotion launch campaign for “Must See TV.” The assignment included Wall penning the lyrics to the long running jingle. Work for ABC included the promotion launches of “Home Improvement” and “The Drew Carey Show.” Hippie Boy was later chosen as the lead creative shop for the cable network launch of Turner Classic Movies.
Earlier, Wall was the Marketing & Promotions Director for Z100 Radio in New York City. A three-time Billboard Magazine “Promotion Director Of The Year” recipient, Wall was responsible for developing, producing and promoting many of that major market radio station’s most successful and wide reaching promotion events and campaigns. These included the world premiere of Madonna’s “Who’s That Girl” movie in Time Square attended by Madonna and 50,000 fans, the STOP THE VIOLENCE concert series starring Aerosmith, Def Leppard & Bryan Adams, and the Official New Year’s Eve Ball event in Times Square, starring Michael Bolton.
Wall is the winner of multiple BDA and PROMAX Awards, an EMMY certification for “The Wonderful World of Disney” main title, and a TELLY Award for a Paramount ShoWest reel. He is also the author of the biography “Chasing Rubi,” documenting the historic life of Dominican diplomat, international playboy and spy Porfirio Rubirosa, whom many identify as the inspiration for the fictional character James Bond. Wall holds a Broadcast Marketing Degree from Central Michigan University.
