FilmLight today announces the worldwide availability of a fully-functional Academic Edition of Baselight for Avid® (Mac), the newest product in its Baselight Editions line, which makes the world’s most powerful colour grading toolset directly available within Avid Media Composer® or Symphony®.
The week of October 22, universities and other educational institutions will be able to purchase five Baselight for Avid licenses for just $995, the price of one commercial license. Alternatively, institutions can obtain ten, 12 month licenses for an annual subscription of $995.
The move is part of FilmLight‘s commitment to support the next generation of editors, colourists and other media professionals by providing them with access to the same leading-edge tools used by working professionals worldwide. “We’ve had many requests from educators for academic pricing, especially since the release of Baselight for Avid earlier this year,” said FilmLight Head of Marketing Mark Burton. “We see this as a great opportunity to help those in education get access to Baselight and improve their knowledge and colour grading skills.”
Baselight for Avid® (Mac), Academic Edition is available to qualified institutions of higher education. Further information about qualifications and pricing is available at FilmLight‘s online store. A Windows version is currently under development and is expected later this year.
