FilmL.A. Board Chair Mel Kohn announced yesterday that the board of directors met on October 22 and unanimously approved the hiring of Paul Audley as its new President, effective Monday, October 27, 2008.
Paul Audley comes to FilmL.A. from The Trust for Public Land, a nonprofit organization based in San Francisco, California, where he served as Arizona state director. Audley has an extensive background in community-based nonprofit organizations and government, having served as mayor of Fairfield, Connecticut and deputy secretary of state.
An attorney, Audley has created and implemented numerous long-term strategic plans and creative technology solutions, and managed media relations, finance and administration.
Kohn stated, “We are confident that Paul Audley will bring a new and innovative perspective to FilmL.A. His vast knowledge and extraordinary background will lead FilmL.A. to become an even more efficient, responsive and vital player in the Los Angles landscape. We know we have found the right person to take FilmL.A. to new levels in servicing our government clients, film industry customers and local communities.”
Commenting on his new position, Paul Audley stated, “Helping to lead FilmL.A. in balancing the needs of the diverse constituencies it serves will provide challenges, opportunities for ‘out-of-the-box’ strategies and a dynamic environment. I look forward to the hard work as well as our team’s accomplishments in providing excellent service to the city, entertainment industry and the citizens of Greater Los Angeles.”
Paul Audley is originally from Connecticut and earned his Bachelor of Science at the University of Bridgeport, and his Juris Doctor from Quinnipiac College School of Law.
The Search Committee, appointed by the board of directors, conducted an exhaustive nationwide search, coordinated by Maxene Johnston of Johnston and Company.
