WHAT: Film Independent’s 2011 Los Angeles Film Festival, presented by the Los Angeles Times, will run June 16-26. Screening and events for the Festival will once again take place in and around the Festival’s new dynamic downtown location, headquartered at L.A. LIVE and Regal Cinemas L.A. LIVE Stadium 14. The 17th edition of the Festival will begin accepting film submissions starting November 1 for feature-length and short narrative and documentary films, and music videos.

DETAILS: Now in its seventeenth year, the Los Angeles Film Festival is widely recognized as a world-class event, showcasing the best of New American and international cinema and providing the movie-loving public with access to some of the most critically acclaimed filmmakers, film industry professionals, and emerging talent from around the world.
The Festival features unique signature programs including the Filmmaker Retreat, Ford Amphitheater Outdoor Screenings, Poolside Chats, and more. Additionally, the Festival screens short films created by high school students and has a special section devoted to music videos.
The 2010 program was comprised of over 200 features, shorts, and music videos from more than 40 countries.
The Festival hosts juried cash awards for best narrative and documentary features, best narrative, documentary and animated short film. Audience awards are also presented to best documentary and narrative feature, short film and music video.
