Growing Design and Production Company Brings Expansion Team Management and Music Staff on Board
In an age of unlikely combinations here’s one that makes complete sense. Design studio and live-action production company Eyeball, also the agency of record for a number of coveted accounts, announced today that they have hired the management and staff of NYC audio branding company, Expansion Team. After ten years as one of the most creative advertising music entities, Expansion Team plans to offer expanded audio branding services under the Eyeball moniker.
“Over the past few years, Eyeball has focused on growth both geographically and longitudinally through our newly opened offices and increased service offerings. We are continuously looking for acquisition opportunities and teams, which will expand our breadth of services,” said Eric J. Bertrand, COO and Partner of Eyeball.
Launched in 2001, Expansion Team was a best-kept secret among advertising industry and TV network execs looking to heighten the authenticity of their brands. Recognized for their commitment to the highest production standards, the company maintained an international roster of sound designers, well-known DJs, indie bands, Grammy-winning songwriters and musicians, all of whom will continue to work with Eyeball. Expansion Team created memorable advertising campaigns and audio brands for many major agencies and clients and in collaboration with Eyeball, was responsible for campaigns and branding for Target, Best Buy, 2K Games, Amazon, American Express, Univision Deportes, AOL, HBO, PBS and others.
Shortly after hosting the Audio Branding Congress at Columbia University in November 2011, Expansion Team‘s founding partner Alex Moulton decided that joining a larger organization and offering a more complete range of services to new accounts was the future for his team.
Limore Shur, founding partner of Eyeball, recounts the story. “While Alex was transitioning Expansion Team from a music house to an audio branding agency, Eyeball was also evolving. We began as a design and motion graphics shop, then added production, then branding and in the last few years many direct to client accounts. With Alex’ experience as a entrepreneur, director, composer, editor and strategist it only made sense that he join our multifarious team as a Creative Director.
Moulton brings a team of experienced music producers, strategists and audio engineers with him to Eyeball. With enthusiasm he adds, "It’s a wonderful opportunity for our team. I’ve always made it my goal to be equally involved in both visual and musical storytelling, and Eyeball is the only place I know that actively seeks out and embraces polymaths like myself.”

“Ǝvolution” Comes Full Circle At The Chelsea Film Festival
The Chelsea Film Festival, running from October 16th through October 20th, 2024, at Regal Cinemas here in Union Square, is set to host the East Coast premiere of Ǝvolution, a thought-provoking experimental micro-short film that proves big ideas can come in small packages and in perfect circles.
In just 1 minute 16 seconds, this cinematic gem by Award-Winning Director Romina Schwedler, with original music by Argentine Composer Ignacio Montoya Carlotto, explores a cycle as old as time: life leads to progress, progress leads to destruction, and destruction, well, leads back to life. But is this vicious circle unbreakable? Ǝvolution suggests the answer is yes, unless we decide to open our eyes.
Inspired by the overwhelming number of recent events that threaten human existence, Ǝvolution, possibly the shortest film in this 12th edition of the festival, plays out entirely through the symbolism of circles, cleverly illustrating —in the blink of an eye— the repeating patterns of history, and confronting viewers with the uncomfortable truth that our so-called “progress” may, in fact, be guiding us to our own ruin.Premiering at the Regal 14 Union Square, New York City, on October 18, 2024, at 11 a.m., Romina Schwedler's micro-short, featuring Leah Young with cinematography by Alan J. Carmona, will be sure to spark conversations longer than the film itself! Forcing viewers to reconsider the true meaning of evolution, not just as a biological process, but as a reflection of our collective journey as humans.
