Bicoastal/Munich-based Aéro Film has added executive producer Unique Hammond to their Los Angeles office. Hammond employs her strategic experience in postproduction and music to bring in fresh work and directorial talent designed to reimagine the Aéro Film brand. Expanding upon Aéro’s established expertise in polished and large scale productions for top brands such as Nike, HP, PlayStation and Audi, Hammond has already pushed the creative envelope with soup to nuts productions including a recent highly cinematic web film for Bolthouse Farms out of Goodness Mfg directed by Jason Farrand and a starkly honest American Cancer Society PSA out of The Martin Agency directed by James Mangold as well as campaigns for Asics and Praxis.
For Bolthouse Farms, Hammond brought a crisp production perspective to the action-packed chase of an obsessive private eye on the heels of a ruthless health food ‘gangsta’ bunny. The 1:51 web film “Carrot Contraband” follows the dogged detective in pursuit of a street-smart bunny who evades capture as he spreads his healthful Bolthouse snacks throughout the city. Utilizing Aéro’s fleet of in-house offerings, she produced the farcical web film from original concept, seeing it through production, editorial and color, entirely in-house.
Hammond also engaged in-house offerings to deliver a more somber message in an American Cancer Society PSA starring Josh Groban. The spot features the singer quite literally taking his stand against the disease which claimed 577,000 Americans in 2012 by bringing a bustling train station to a screeching halt with his forthright call for action. While working on the affecting :30 PSA, the project grew to encompass an additional digital and cinema portion of the campaign, which Hammond engaged Aéro’s Indrani to direct. Postproduction for a majority of the ACS content was handled in-house through Aéro Post and NY-based VFX department Aéro Studios
Notes EP Lance O’Connor, “We’re thrilled to bring Unique’s fresh energy and adventuresome personality to Aéro.” Adds Hammond, “I’m excited to join a company with such seasoned production chops. I look forward to building and nurturing a hand-picked roster of A-list talent who can handle a wide range of projects.”
Born in the lush forests of Big Sur, California, Hammond was drawn to photography as a girl, employing her endless curiosity to capture life’s unexpectedly remarkable moments. Looking to expand to a wider arena, she headed to L.A. at a young age where she bolstered her postproduction experience with her 15-year tenure at HUM Music. There she lent her talents to numerous high-level campaigns for top brands such as Acura, Visa, Pizza Hut, Microsoft, Exxon and Sony, among others.
When not producing award-winning commercial work, Hammond spends her time nurturing her continuing love of photography and writing while also taking advantage of southern California’s optimal weather by surfing, golfing and kiteboarding.

“Ǝvolution” Comes Full Circle At The Chelsea Film Festival
The Chelsea Film Festival, running from October 16th through October 20th, 2024, at Regal Cinemas here in Union Square, is set to host the East Coast premiere of Ǝvolution, a thought-provoking experimental micro-short film that proves big ideas can come in small packages and in perfect circles.
In just 1 minute 16 seconds, this cinematic gem by Award-Winning Director Romina Schwedler, with original music by Argentine Composer Ignacio Montoya Carlotto, explores a cycle as old as time: life leads to progress, progress leads to destruction, and destruction, well, leads back to life. But is this vicious circle unbreakable? Ǝvolution suggests the answer is yes, unless we decide to open our eyes.
Inspired by the overwhelming number of recent events that threaten human existence, Ǝvolution, possibly the shortest film in this 12th edition of the festival, plays out entirely through the symbolism of circles, cleverly illustrating —in the blink of an eye— the repeating patterns of history, and confronting viewers with the uncomfortable truth that our so-called “progress” may, in fact, be guiding us to our own ruin.Premiering at the Regal 14 Union Square, New York City, on October 18, 2024, at 11 a.m., Romina Schwedler's micro-short, featuring Leah Young with cinematography by Alan J. Carmona, will be sure to spark conversations longer than the film itself! Forcing viewers to reconsider the true meaning of evolution, not just as a biological process, but as a reflection of our collective journey as humans.
With a string of festival appearances across the globe, including CineGlobe at CERN (Switzerland/France), Oscar®... Read More
