ESPN and production and design studio Big Block won a Sports Emmy® Award for Outstanding Post-Produced Graphic Design for Monday Night Football. In total, ESPN was honored with nine Sports Emmy® Awards out of an industry-leading 40 nominations.
Big Block worked as a creative collaborator with Spike Szykowny, Senior Director of Motion Graphics for ESPN, and his team to evolve the look and feel of Monday Night Football. The Emmy®-winning package included an anticipation-building show open, plus new graphics, animation, and Team History bumps, along with a reimagined MNF shield logo from ESPN and Big Block. These visual touch points were also integrated throughout the gameplay broadcast for consistency.
This is the second consecutive year Monday Night Football won the award in the Outstanding Post-Produced Graphic Design category. ESPN and Big Block’s collaborations also resulted in Emmy nominations for Outstanding Live Graphic Design for ESPN’s College Football and ESPN’s Monday Night Football.

Effective sonic branding, by contrast, requires thoughtful strategic planning,... Read More
