Fast Cuts, a nationally recognized post-production house located in the Southwest, announces the latest addition to their impressive list of creative editors. Skilled in witty visual narratives and offbeat styling, Fast Cuts is eager to welcome editor Gabriel Wrye to the team.
Gabriel began his Hollywood film career in 1996 while working as an additional editor on the smash-hit film, Jerry Maguire. Fourteen years later, he had the crowd in hysterics with the completion of a 2010 Sundance comedy titled High School (directed by John Stalberg).
“โฆa stoner comedy worthy of being mentioned in the same paragraph as both Dazed and Confused and the great John Hughes," says Neil Miller of FilmSchoolRejects.com. Justin Chang of Variety gave props to Wrye’s skills saying, "Gabriel Wrye‘s mildly caffeinated editingโฆsustain a mild rush that keeps things lively, even if the ending is never really in doubt.”
Wrye has over fifteen years of experience in editing and has worked with many other directors such as Oliver Stone, Rian Johnson, and Rob Schmidt. Some of his Hollywood film credits include The Brothers Bloom (Toronto ’09), Primeval, Any Given Sunday and Crime and Punishment in Suburbia. Wrye’s commercial credits include work for the Independent Film Channel, Cure Autism Now Foundation, Blackglama, and Volkswagen.
“His theatrical work gives him broad experiences in captivating storytelling,” said Fast Cuts President/Editor Richard Gillespie. “He is very versatile–from cutting edge, thought provoking, to humorous…. his work is highly engaging. We are very excited to have Gabriel join the Fast Cuts Team.”
Wrye’s other credits include founding Zoon Politikon, a political ad company with a reputation for producing award-winning spots.”Do it in the Booth” for Rock the Vote and “True Grit” for Accountable America both won Polie Awards last year.
“As an editor, I have never been comfortable settling into any one genre or format,” said Wrye. “I like change andโฆ Although I love features, commercial and short form has always been where the most interesting and innovative stylistic work happens firstโฆ I am very excited to have Fast Cuts helping me make that a larger part of the cutting work that I do.”
Wrye and Gillespie round out an editorial roster that includes Marc Hoffmeister, Michael Oleksinski, Brody Howard, Gigi Cone Welch, Kristina Z. Cruse, Luis Carballar, and Walter May.
