Paul Cotterell, Dubbing Mixer at leading London post facility LipSync, has been honored by UK Screen Association’s Sound Awards -The Conch 2009. The annual award ceremony, now entering its fifth year, recognizes the British audio talent from the Film, TV and Commercials industries.
Cotterell, who’s been with LipSync since 2000, believes it was his work on The Red Riding Trilogy which showcased his abilities and highlighted his skills as Britain’s Best Dubbing Mixer to the panel of judges. Cotterell’s impressive work seems set to continue, currently he’s working on Sam Taylor Wood’s debut feature film “Nowhere Boy” and the Ian Drury biopic “Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll.”
On winning the award Cotterell said “Working on The Red Riding Trilogy was a great experience as the quality of the production meant we all had to be at the very top of our game. It’s brilliant to be presented with a Conch for my work over this year, it really wouldn’t be possible without working at LipSync which gives me the opportunity to work on some of the best productions being made in Britain, or anywhere else.”
This year the Conch Awards were held in Kings Place, London. Gaynor Davenport, CEO of UK Screen Association commented that with films such as “Red Riding” amongst others, it had been a great year for British audio.
Alasdair MacCuish, MD of LipSync and Executive Producer of Red Riding said, “Everyone at LipSync is thrilled for Paul who thoroughly deserves his Conch Award. Paul and the entire sound team’s outstanding abilities have really shone through this year working on titles such as The Red Riding Trilogy, How To Lose Friends and Alienate People” and Dean Spanley.”
The Red Riding Trilogy is currently available to buy on DVD in both the UK and US.
