Emmy®-winning VFX house Zoic Studios is rallying their local community and rolling up their sleeves to aid the victims of Hurricane Harvey as they rebuild their lives in the wake of the devastating destruction in Texas. The VFX house has launched a ‘Road to Relief’ drive, accepting donations at their Culver City studio, collecting everything from baby to pet supplies to non-perishable food, clothing, bedding and toiletries. Matson, a leading U.S. shipping company, is providing a shipping container for ground transport over 1,400 miles from Los Angeles to Austin where the Austin Disaster Relief Network will disseminate to thousands of survivors by way of 2,500 volunteers. Donations will be accepted at their studio at 3582 Eastham Drive, Culver City, CA 90232 from now until Friday, September 22.
Additional partners currently on board include Progressive Transportation Services, who will be providing a truck and driver to transport the goods to Austin as well as LA-based production company Fancy Content, Culver City-based design-driven production company Woodshop, Los Angeles-based production company The Directors Bureau and new L.A.-based VFX shop Kevin. The Culver City Target store will also be providing a store gift card donation. Zoic is working with the Culver City Chamber of Commerce to bring on further local community partners to amplify the local impact for this drive, uniting local creative companies to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey on their continued long road to recovery.
