Donald Silverman of Silverman Productions was recently honored with a prestigious Gold Remi Award at the 46th Annual WorldFest International Film Festival. Silverman won the Gold in the Health and Wellness category, for his visually stunning promotional video for Primland Spa, a luxury resort in Virginia.
Directed by Silverman, the award-winning promotional video features a sumptuous high-definition video journey through the amenities and surroundings at Primland, a luxury Virginia spa nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Through a series of images emphasizing the spa’s superb services along with panoramic views of its 12,000 acres of natural beauty, Silverman’s promotional video promises renewal, rejuvenation, and relaxation, deftly communicating the soothing natural beauty of Primland without a single spoken word, and in just over two short minutes. The video generated enthusiastic response for Silverman, with especial praise for its gorgeous visuals, superb editing, and musical choice (a simple, gently relaxing piano piece that served as the perfect accompaniment to the video’s serene vistas).
“I’m delighted to receive the Gold Remi Award in the Health and Wellness category,” comments Donald Silverman, “Especially the opportunity to be singled out from a field of so many distinguished competitors this year.” Silverman was one of a handful chosen out of more than 4,200 category entries in all film and video competitions for the 2012 Remi Awards, with less than 12% of submitted entries placing for WorldFest Remi awards honors.
As the staff director and founder for Silverman Productions, Donald Silverman offers nearly 40 years of experience in the production business as a seasoned director with proven skills in video creations for a variety of top agencies, corporations, and causes. In addition to the new Gold Remi Award, Silverman’s awards mantel also includes multiple Telly Awards and honors (including a Telly Classic Award), and numerous national and regional Gold Awards for additional marketing and promotional videos.
The Remi Awards honor outstanding creative excellence in film and video, and were presented at the Gala Remi Awards Dinner on Saturday, April 21, 2012, during the 45th Annual WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival, which took place from April 13 – 22, 2012. This year’s international juries in ten major categories evaluated each submission’s success by scoring entrants on a variety of artistic and technical aspects, from Concept to Storyline, Directing, Cinematography, Editing, Pacing, and more.
