From the mind of Zoe Cassevetes comes “Junior,” the all-new digital series produced by Little Minx and France’s Manny Films. All 10 episodes will be available April 5th on VICE’s Blackpills channel, the company’s new media platform grabbing a corner in the ever-growing original content space. “Junior” is the latest series to emerge from VICE’s distribution deal with Blackpills, which specializes in producing high-quality, radical, edgy content, made directly for millennial-focused mobile consumption.

A modern coming-of-age story, "Junior" follows high schooler Logan (Lucia Ribisi), a New York transplant living in LA with her divorced mother (Amy Seimetz). The series plays like “Thirteen” or “Kids” for the digital age, as Logan begins filming a documentary about her new friend’s (Kristine Forseth) journey into becoming a “bad girl.” After a random laundromat tryst with a boy who turns out to be her friend’s boyfriend (David Garelik), and meeting her mom’s new boyfriend/Hollywood producer (Eric Johnson), Logan finds herself in not one, but two love triangles.

Zoe Cassavetes is an acclaimed writer/director represented by Little Minx, and the daughter of actor-director John Cassavetes and actress Gena Rowlands. Her first feature length film Broken English, starring Parker Posey, received critical praise at its Sundance premiere and earned her status as an indie darling. Her work co-hosting the TV series Hi Octane with Sofia Coppola, and her second feature, Day Out of Days, starring Melanie Griffith and Eddie Izzard, went on to cement her place as an artistic powerhouse.

Renowned LA/NY-based production company Little Minx produced the entire series in conjunction with Manny Films. Founded by Rhea Scott in 1998, Little Minx has defined itself as a haven for fostering creative growth. Little Minx directors have been recognized across industries, earning awards including Oscars®, BAFTAs, Golden Globes®, CLIOs and Cannes Lions. Sharing production duties is Philippe Gompel, President and Founder of Manny Films, an independent film production company based in Paris. Founded in 2007, Manny Films has worked with a large number of French broadcasters, distributors, international sales and films funds.

Blackpills is a new media company specializing in premium short scripted content.
