Takes 2015 TLX For A Spin On Stage, On Location
Bandito Brothers Director Tim Damon again shows his prowess for capturing magic moments in sheet metal, this time for Boston based ad agency Mullen. Damon leverages both stage and street to highlight the attributes of the all new 2015 Acura TLX.
Special Features. Special Spot. Special Kino Flo Lighting Rig.
The spot is titled, “More” for a reason. The 2015 TLX is equipped with All-Wheel Steering, Paddle Shifters and an 8-speed duel clutch transmission. Damon first shot the Acura on a specially built 360 Kino Flo flat with 22+ lights at his own L.A. based stage20. The amazing custom rig has the ability to spin 360 degrees in counter rotation to the turntable. He then headed out on location to put the car through its paces; through the urban maze of Century City, a winding Malibu canyon road and last, on the runway at InyoKern Airport. “It was great collaborating with the creatives at Mullen and editorial house Artjail,” adds Damon. “Working closely with Steve Mottershead (Artjail CD) and Eron Otcasek (editor) during the shoot allowed us to film moves on stage that transition perfectly to the location.”
Stage Shots, Camera Cars, Flight Heads and A Drone.
Unique to the spot is Damon’s ability to effortlessly go from stage to on-location shooting, integrating the Acura into its environment while showing off its refined interior of the TLX and completely redesigned body. Damon choreographed the stage lighting and movement, then took to the streets with digital cameras, a camera car, flight heads and drone.
