Writer and director Nathan Catucci has been awarded the Panavision New Filmmaker Grant for his debut feature film, “Impossible Monsters.”
Cinematographer Behnood Dadfar will capture the film, with Jonathan Burkhart producing.
“Ben and I are incredibly grateful to Mike Dallatorre and Sal Giarratano [of Panavision] for their support, and we’re excited to capture with Panavision glass,” said Catucci.
“Impossible Monsters” is a thriller about an ambitious professor who becomes caught up in the murder of his student. The project kicked off with a multimedia table read hosted by the Pace Gallery in Manhattan with casting by Matthew Messinger, and principal photography begins this summer in New York City.
Panavision – a designer, manufacturer and provider of state-of-the-art cinema lenses and high-precision camera systems – launched the New Filmmaker Program as an ongoing grant program that loans camera packages to film schools, training programs, and independent filmmakers at little or no charge.
