<a href="http://www.thornbergandforester.com.home/”>Thornberg & Forester has added director Jeremiah “Miah” Morehead to its creative team. A former associate creative director at Digital Kitchen in Chicago, Miah brings an incredibly broad skill set to the production studio, with experience as a designer, vfx supervisor and live action director. He also arrives with a lengthy list of high profile credits spanning commercials, broadcast graphics and television main titles, including work for Dell, Dodge and HBO.
Miah’s addition is indicative of the growth <a href="http://www.thornbergandforester.com.home/”>Thornberg & Forester has been enjoying, as well as its evolutionary trajectory. The company, which recently moved into a spacious new production studio in Manhattan, initially made its mark in motion graphics design, but has recently been undertaking an increasing number of hybrid projects, combining live action, animation and high concept design elements.
“We are a design company first,” says T&F executive producer Elizabeth Kiehner, “but we have been looking for opportunities for our creative directors to expand their horizons and we have been directing a lot more live action.” “More projects require a hybrid approach because it’s a good way to create new looks,” Kiehner adds. “This insight is in tune with our creative philosophy, which is very eclectic, and with the diverse talents of our creative team. We like to think of ourselves as a production studio that can do it all, and take projects from the concept phase through delivery—while taking advantage of all the tools and techniques available to us.”
Among the company’s recent work is a spot for <a href="http://www.thornbergandforester.com.projects/motion/mcdonalds/”>McDonald’s made up of a quirky blend of stop motion animation and live action, directed by Scott Matz. The studio also created a campaign for Arnold, New York, promoting the recent U.S. Open Tennis Tournament. For this three-spot campaign, T&F creative director Justin Meredith recorded spectacular, nighttime views of Times Square. In post, tennis footage was composited onto the street’s famous billboards in Flame. <a href="http://www.thornbergandforester.com.home/”>Thornberg & Forester also created the branding for the recent launch of the environmentally-focused <a href="http://www.thornbergandforester.com.projects/motion/planetgreenids/”>Planet Green, and has just completed a broadcast and internet rebrand for the seminal news organization Reuters.
<a href="http://www.thornbergandforester.com.home/”>Thornberg & Forester recently shot Jack Black as well as Thomas Friedman of the New York Times and author of Hot, Flat and Crowded for a series of powerful promotional films for Conservation International. The team is also about to deliver a sizzling, new video for fashion brand, <a href="http://www.thornbergandforester.com.projects/interactive/adam/”>Adam. The studio’s overall ability to shoot beautiful film and edit is a cornerstone of the growing business.
