Director Gregg Casson has just added a further three awards to his name with recent success at the 2010 International Telly Awards. “Vault”, a commercial for Oakley’s Nanowire sunglasses, took home awards in the Sports/Sporting Goods, Low Budget & Directing categories.
“Vault” is a sixty-second spot that tells the story of one very determined blind man and his against-the-odds quest for a valuable piece of art. The commercial was shot on stage in Eagle Rock, CA, and completed on an extremely tight budget thanks to valuable contributions from Deluxe Laboratories, Kodak & Technicolor.
This success sees Casson adding to an already impressive award tally, ranging from the Clio Awards to inclusion in the SHOOT New Directors Showcase. A PSA he directed and produced for the United Nations is part of the Film Society’s permanent collection, and is on display at The Lincoln Center in New York City.
Casson’s work often revolves around a central theme of competition. He credits his interest in competitive people & situations to an athletic upbringing.
Gregg is currently seeking representation in the US. He is represented by Stratum in India.
