Director Ben Ketai joins ContagiousLA’s growing roster of young directors for North Amercian representation. Ketai is a rising talent in the feature and digital space. His inde horror pic, BENEATH, received theatrical distribution this year through IFC, and his thriller series, CHOSEN, launches its fourth season with Sony Crackle. Co-created and directed by Ketai, CHOSEN has catapulted to become Sony Crackle’s number one scripted drama.
Born and raised in Detroit, Ketai quickly rose through the feature ranks under the tutelage of director Sam Raimi. After writing, directing, and producing six different digital series for Raimi’s horror shingle, Ghost House Pictures, Ketai launched into the theatrical world with his first feature, 30 DAYS OF NIGHT: DARK DAYS (2010). Currently, Ketai has been writing for various studios and producers, including the upcoming David Goyer project, THE FOREST.
Ketai brings a strong story acumen and gritty visual aesthetic to the commercial world. Natalie Sakai, Partner and Executive Producer at ContagiousLA, notes, “Some of the most interesting work in advertising right now is in the long form and digital space. Ben’s not only a born storyteller who understands that medium, but he also offers a unique visual perspective that mixes well with advertising.”
