Created for ORANGE, which is the Official Sponsor of the UEFA 2012 EURO, the spot opens with an overview of Parade Square. As the city lives its own life, a strange grass is rolled out in the middle of the square. Then goal posts are put into place. As what is about to come next starts to be clear, groups of soccer fans begin to gather around the pitch. The Poland national soccer team suddenly moves in to play a friendly match: it’s Poland vs. Poland.
“I like challenging projects because they keep a little gap open to the unexpected, which normally turns into something good.” says Adriano Falconi.
“This project was filled with challenges right from the start because the preparation of the event and the game its self has to be shoot in real time.” recalls Falconi. As the event was taking place in the center of Warsaw, he knew that people would eventually step in. “To me, it was important to show honest passion for soccer so I decided to surprise the crowd by playing the sound track of the spot very loud. And people, surprisingly, just started to dance,” he added.
From the first phone call, working with Pawel Heinze and Michael Hansen was both inspiring and fun. We always felt we were thinking about filmmaking in the same way. “I was pleased to work Film Produktja, although challenging, they all worked “cool” making the project easy,” Falconi said about working with his friends. “Lucas Bielan has a great eye and he is a great guy to work with; this was definitely a fun spot,” Falconi says.
