Branded content studio The Department of the 4th Dimension (The D4D) tempt the palate with three new savory webisodes for the AEG Neue Kollektion. Tapped by Adweek’s 2010 ‘Insurgent of the Year’ agency Great Works, The D4D created dream sequences that utilize vivid imagery and reverse chronology set against a systematic beat-infused score.nnInterspersed with sleek shots highlighting the Swedish appliance maker’s new collection, the one-minute webisodes demonstrate the preparation of famed Michelin-starred Chef Martin Berg’s three favorite dishes – Scandinavian Sashimi, Porter Braised Ox Cheek and Mixed Berries with Roasted Almonds – from finish to start. Each begins focusing on the finished dish, and then quickly rolls in reverse, showing the honed slice of a knife through fish, the whirl of almonds blending, percolating steamed milk to the simple touch of an oven. The work can be seen on www.aeg.nl/Global-Pages/Campaigns/TNK/NeueKollektion-campaign-page or http://thed4d.com/projects/p10-berries.nn”The D4D has that rare ‘fingerspitzgefühl’, the sensibility to bring out the brand values whilst instilling their unique artistic take on the project,” said Great Works Creative Frederic Sebton. “We loved their Minority Report dream sequences and hoped they could bring that spirit to our project. Their work took the AEG brand to a new level.”nn”We wanted to introduce the audience to the ultimate culinary dream world,” said The D4D‘s Founder and Director Matt Checkowski. “Peek into the mind of a world class chef. Ride with him as he undoes one of his passionate creations. We wanted the dish to come to alive, pulling you through his dream and into your own kitchen.”nn
nnAnother recent campaign from The D4D earned recognition from The One Club. The non-profit organization devoted to elevating creative work in the industry named The D4D‘s “Perfunkt” webisodes as a finalist and merit certificate winner in their third annual One Show Entertainment Awards. Nine spots in total, the webisodes feature various master chefs and other professionals illustrating their unique skills. Created in partnership with Huge, Brooklyn, NY, all are shot in black and white, with only the subject matter (meat, bread, sausage, etc.) shown in vibrant color. See the work at http://thed4d.com/projects/aeg-perfunkt. nnAbout THE D4DnThe D4D is a branded content studio that works with progressive agencies and dynamic brands to energize their business through moving pictures across multiple platforms.
