Branded content studio The Department of the 4th Dimension (The D4D) recently completed a series of nine creative culinary and professional webisodes for client AEG’s Electrolux “Perfunkt” website. The webisodes, which feature various master chefs and other professionals illustrating their unique skills, can be viewed on www.Perfunkt.com.nnLead AEG digital shop Huge, Brooklyn, NY, tapped The D4D for the project after viewing the studio’s immensely popular videos for independent coffee shop Intelligentsia in Venice, Calif., which recently made the shortlist for the first Vimeo Festival Awards (http://thed4d.com/projects/intelligentsia-coffee). The black and white documentary style with each subject matter in color helped draw AEG’s audience into the perfection that goes into each subject.nn”The goal of the series was to place AEG’s audience into a casual conversation at the point of perfection,” said The D4D‘s Founder and Creative Director Matt Checkowski. “Each expert lives and breathes their craft which we hope inspires the same passion for detail and process in everyone who watches the films. Each black and white episode is enhanced with a splash of color: the visual embodiment of our expert’s obsession. We imagined this is how the world would look when living at the peak of the perfect technique.”nnSeveral of the webisodes feature master butcher Jack O’Shea, shown selecting the perfect cut of meat, making steak tartare and illustrating professional cooking techniques. Another execution depicts Berlin sausage maker Rainer Lehman’s “Currywurst” expertise.
