Über Content is excited to announce the addition of director Daniel Strange to its roster for worldwide commercial representation.
After graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in Film and Video, Daniel began his career as an editor, honing his storytelling skills and developing a distinctive comedic rhythm that has become his signature. After editing the pilot episode of the hugely successful faux-interview web series, “Between Two Ferns” with Zach Galifianakis, Daniel took over as the director, showcasing his eye for comedic spontaneity and ability to channel improvised humor. His episode featuring Natalie Portman remains one of Funny or Die’s all-time most-viewed videos, with over 10 million views to date and counting.
Daniel followed this success with a number of directing gigs: more classic Ferns episodes (with Jon Hamm, Bradley Cooper, Ben Stiller, among others), a wildly popular star-studded music video for Funny or Die that he also co-wrote (“The Ballad of G.I. Joe”), a web series for Ben Stiller’s Red Hour Films (“Stiller & Meara”), and producing and directing a ten-episode docu-reality comedy series for IFC (“Commercial Kings”). He even found the time to get involved in the world of video games, writing “Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions” for Activision and lending his baritone to the main character in Magic: The Gathering’s “Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012.”
Über Content Executive Producer Steve Wi has this to say about Daniel coming on board the Los Angeles-based company’s roster, “Daniel is a unique talent who has an intrinsic understanding of storytelling from start to finish and is a director who thinks like an editor and writer. His multi-faceted skills are what drew me to him but what really sealed the deal is that he’s also a sharp dresser.”
Most recently Daniel directed a 22-spot web comedy campaign for Saatchi & Saatchi and Toyota’s Rav 4 and is wrapping up an online Mike and Ike campaign this month. In fact, he has plans to spread his distinctive humor across several platforms this year, though he contends that his best work remains “The Ballad of G.I. Joe,” mostly because Julianne Moore was in it.
