Sound Lounge, New York City’s longest-running independent provider of sound and mixing services for advertising, television, podcasts, and feature films has announced Dana Villarreal as senior producer.
Villarreal brings over 15 years of experience in audio post-production. After graduating from NYU with a degree in Music Technology, Villarreal began her career as an assistant engineer at Nutmeg Audio Post before moving over to produce at PLUSHnyc. Villarreal produced audio there for over a decade, with nearly seven years at a senior level. With her technical background and deep dive knowledge of sound post-production, Villarreal has the unique ability to truly bridge the gap between clients and engineers. Throughout her career, she has worked on projects for brands including Mountain Dew, TD Bank, 7-Eleven, and HBO.
“Dana is so experienced across all aspects of what we do – I am very confident in her abilities to manage and guide this team,” says Executive Producer Susie Shuttleworth. “As Sound Lounge continues to evolve and expand as a full-service audio partner, Dana’s wealth of knowledge, dependability, and well-rounded background is vital.”
As senior producer, Villarreal will be laser focused on producing and managing the day-to-day production aspects of Sound Lounge’s busy commercial division. Passionate about complex new media projects, Villarreal loves to flex her dynamic problem-solving skills and enjoys how fast-paced the audio world is. Villarreal is perfectly placed to match the studio’s future trajectory and expansion into branded entertainment, experiential, and VR.
“Sound Lounge has a long history in the industry and there’s a certain level of stature to the work that’s done here,” says Villarreal. “My entire career has been committed to audio, so the opportunity to join such an established studio that really knows who they are is an exciting opportunity.”
