The Telly Awards has named The Department of the Fourth Dimension (The D4D) a four-time award winner in the 35th Annual Telly Awards for the University of California Onward California Series. Additionally, one of the Onward California films – “Beer: A Beautiful, Artistic Symphony” – has been named part of the official selection for the 2014 Charleston Food Film Festival to be held April 24-26.
“A Universal Language” was honored with two Bronze Telly Awards, one for Internet Video, Education and one for Branded Content, Not-for-profit. The film features UC Berkeley linguistics lecturer Patrick Boudreault, who is deaf, contemplating the universality of language, whether it's communicated with our hands or our voice. “The Art & Science of Beer” earned Bronze Telly for Branded Content, Not-for-profit. UC Davis brewing science professor Charles Bamforth (aka The Pope of Foam) delves into the art & science behind creating the perfect glass of beer in this popular online film. The D4D was responsible for the concept and execution of the multi-episode series known as the “Onward California,” which received the Telly Award for Branded Content Campaign, Promotional/Branding. The compelling series features over 30 episodes, including “A Universal Language” and “The Art & Science of Beer,” and was directed by The D4D creative director Matt Checkowski.
